First-half freight volumes increased by 4.6% to 24.45 million tons and passenger numbers were up by 5% to 2.2 million, the state railway company said.
The operator carried 17.6 million tons of freight on international routes in January through June this year and another 6.84 million tons on domestic routes.
Lietuvos Gelezinkeliai posted a net loss of 1.8 million euros for 2016, versus a net profit of 2.776 million euros for 2015, as annual revenue dropped by 5.1% to 414.9 million euros.
