Lietuvos Oro Uostai CEO Gediminas Almantas says that the state-owned company expects its dividends to rise further in the future.
"The impetus for future growth comes from several projects that are planned to be implemented. These include Vilnius Airport's runway reconstruction scheduled for this summer and Vilnius Airport's passenger terminal renovation that is slated to begin next year to increase the annual passenger throughput of the country's largest airport from 3.5 mln to 4.5 mln," Almantas said in a press release on Wednesday.
"A positive impact of the company's further development will be felt both by passengers and by the state in the form of dividends," he added.
Lietuvos Oro Uostai's net profit surged by 64% last year compared with 2015 as revenue jumped by 22% to almost 30 mln euros, including 19.4 mln euros from aviation operations.
The company was established in 2014 through the merger of the airports of Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga. The three airports last year handled 4.8 mln passengers and 52,000 flights.
