Over the month, the turnover of enterprises trading in food products increased by 0.4, of those engaged in retail trade in automotive fuels – by 0.2, of those trading in non-food products – by 1.2% at constant prices. The largest increase in turnover was observed for retail sale of books (51.8%) and furniture, lighting equipment and other household articles (25.8%) in specialised stores.
In August 2013, against August 2012, the turnover (VAT excluded) of retail trade enterprises increased by 5.5% at constant prices (working day adjusted, by 6.1%). The turnover of enterprises trading in food products increased by 6.6, of those engaged in retail trade in automotive fuels – by 3.4, of those trading in non-food products – by 5.4% at constant prices. The largest increase in turnover was observed for retail sale of furniture, lighting equipment and other household articles in specialised stores (by 25.2%) and in retail sale via mail order houses or via the Internet (by 17.8%).
In August 2013, the turnover (VAT excluded) of food and beverage service enterprises amounted to LTL 141.1 million; against July, it decreased by 1.1% at constant prices; against August 2012, it increased by 8.5% at constant prices.
