The change was mainly influenced by a 1.9% increase in wages and salaries and a 0.1% increase in prices for building materials and products. As for building materials and products, the largest price rise over the month was observed for concrete and ferroconcrete products – 0.8%, wood products – 0.7, finishing materials – 0.5%, while prices for metallic articles decreased by 0.4%.
As for buildings and structures, the largest price rise over the month was observed for the construction of waste water pipelines and renovation of buildings (by 0.9% each).
Over the year (August 2013, against August 2012), construction input prices increased by 4.5%. It was conditioned by a 10% increase in wages and salaries and a 2.9% increase in prices for building materials and products. As for building materials and products, the largest price rise over the year was observed for finishing materials – by 4.9, various types of concrete and mortar – 4.7, general building materials – 4.4, concrete and ferroconcrete products – 3.2, pipes – 2.6, and wood products – 2%.
As for buildings and structures, the largest price rise over the year was observed for the construction of residential buildings – by 4.9%; prices for renovation of buildings increased by 5.3%.
The influence on the overall change in construction input prices is determined not only by change in the construction input component price but also by the relative share (weight) of that component in the total value of construction.
