Over the month (February 2017, against January 2017), exports increased by 6.8, imports – by 7.6%. The increase in exports was influenced by an increase in exports of petroleum products (10.3%), machinery and mechanical appliances, parts thereof (20.5%), ground vehicles (28.3%), live trees and other plants, bulbs, cut flowers (2.8 times). An increase in imports was determined by an increase in imports of ground vehicles (48.7%), machinery and mechanical appliances, parts thereof (14.5%), live trees and other plants, bulbs, cut flowers (2.4 times). Mineral products excluded, exports increased by 6.3, imports – by 15.1%. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin increased by 1.2%, mineral products excluded – decreased by 3.3%.
Over the year (February 2017, against February 2016), exports increased by 12.9, imports – by 18.8%. The increase in exports was influenced by an increase in exports of petroleum products (75.3%), machinery and mechanical appliances, parts thereof (12.4%), iron and steel (2.1 times). The increase in imports was determined by an increase in imports of crude petroleum (2.1 times) (in tonnes – by 2.1%), ground vehicles (17.7%), electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof (20.4%). Mineral products excluded, exports increased by 5.3, imports – by 10.2%. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin increased by 15.2, mineral products excluded – by 1.3%.
In January–February 2017, against the same period of 2016, exports increased by 16.1, imports – by 23.5%. The increase in exports was determined by an increase in exports of petroleum products (61%), machinery and mechanical appliances, parts thereof (20.3 %), and furniture (15.8%). The increase in imports was determined by an increase in imports of crude petroleum (2.4 times) (in tonnes – by 22.3%), ground vehicles (19.2%), and electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof (19.8%). Mineral products excluded, exports increased by 9.8, imports – by 13.3%. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin increased by 15.3%, mineral products excluded – by 5.2%.
In January–February 2017, the most important Lithuania's partners in exports were Russia (11.9%), Poland (9.7%), Latvia (9.3%), and Germany (7.5%), in imports – Russia (17.4%), Germany (10.9%), Poland (9.9%), and Latvia (7.4%). Most of the goods of Lithuanian origin were exported to Poland (10.1%), Germany (9.2%), the United States (9%), Sweden (7.5%), and Latvia (6.7%).
In January–February 2017, the largest share in Lithuania's exports and imports fell within mineral products (17.1 and 24.2% respectively), machinery and mechanical appliances, electrical equipment (14.4 and 16.6% respectively), and products of the chemical and allied industries (10.7 and 11.4% respectively). As for the goods of Lithuanian origin, the largest share in exports fell within petroleum products (22.4%), miscellaneous manufactured articles (11.8%), products of the chemical and allied industries (8.3%), prepared foodstuffs, beverages, spirits and tobacco (8.2%).
