Lithuania's Q4 annual growth of housing prices among EU's biggest

Housing prices in Lithuania grew by 9.5 percent in the fourth quarter of 2016 year-on-year, which made the growth among the biggest in the European Union, figures from the EU statistics office Eurostat showed on Friday. Steeper rise was only reported in the Czech Republic (11%) and Hungary (9.7%). In Latvia, housing prices went up by 9% and in Estonia by 7.7% in October-December of 2016, as compared with the same period last year. Q-o-q, the growth was 1.8% in Lithuania, 2% in Latvia and 1.1% in Estonia. Across the EU, housing prices increased by an average of 4.7% y-o-y and by 0.8% q-o-q.
