"While trying to fight against the blank economy, it is purposeful to legally restrict one of the conditions of its existence – the settlement in cash," said Minister of Finance Rimantas Sadzius.
EU Commission emphasized that the restriction of cash payments along with others is the one of the recommended national measures to reduce the shadow economy. This practice is used in Latvia, France, Spain, Denmark, Slovakia, Italy and other EU countries. The average amount of soluble cash transactions such kind is set to be defined and in Lithuania it constitutes about 10 thousand litas.
