The construction of individual houses, accounting for 98.4% of all the permits issued, will continue to predominate in the country. Building permits were issued for the construction of 2 965 new individual houses, with the useful floor area by a third larger than in IV quarter 2015, and for the construction of 67 blocks of flats, with the useful floor area almost the same as in IV quarter 2015.
In IV quarter 2016, 268 building permits were issued for the construction of new non-residential buildings, i.e. by 44.7% less than in the respective quarter of 2015. Their total floor area will be by 30.8% smaller than in the respective quarter of 2015. In terms of the total floor area, the largest share of building permits issued were those for the construction of industrial buildings and warehouses (27.2%) and office buildings (26.6%).
According to the data of the IS Infostatyba, in IV quarter 2016, 3 323 new residential and non-residential buildings were completed, i.e. by 42% more than in IV quarter 2015. 3 112 new residential buildings with 4 481 dwellings were completed, of which as much as 74% – in individual houses; their useful floor area amounted to 555.1 thousand m2, i.e. by 37% more than in IV quarter 2015. The average useful floor area of a dwelling in an individual house amounted to 147.6 m2, in a block of flats – 55.7 m2. Moreover, 5 new hostels with the useful floor area of 1 thousand m2 were built.
In IV quarter 2016, 47.5% of all new dwellings completed were located in Vilnius County, 17.4% – in Kaunas County, 12.3% – in Klaipėda County.
In IV quarter 2016, 211 new non-residential buildings were completed. Their total floor area amounted to 417.6 thousand m2, i.e. by 2.7% more than in the respective quarter of 2015. In terms of the total floor area, trade and catering enterprises, hotels (157.2 thousand m2) and industrial buildings and warehouses (114.7 thousand m2) accounted for the largest share.
In IV quarter 2016, 23.7% of all new non-residential buildings completed were located in Vilnius County, 19.9% – in Kaunas County, 13.3% – in Panevėžys County.
In 2016, 8 081 permits for the construction of residential and non-residential buildings were issued. 7 167 permits, or 88.7% of the total number, were issued for the construction of residential buildings, which is by 15.7% more than in 2015. In 8 452 residential buildings, 16 765 dwellings will be equipped, which is by 22.3% more than in 2015. Permits were issued for the construction of 8 166 individual houses, 286 blocks of flats, and 6 hostels.
In 2016, against 2015, the number of permits for the construction of new non-residential buildings decreased by 52.4%; the floor area of such buildings will total 1.5 million m2, which is by 11% less than in 2015. In terms of the total floor area, industrial buildings and warehouses (35.3%), trade and catering enterprises and hotels (18%) account for the largest share.
In 2016, 7 651 new residential and non-residential buildings were completed, of which 92.2% – residential buildings. 12 703 dwellings were equipped in 7 044 residential buildings. Against the respective period of 2015, the number of new residential buildings completed increased by 23.6%, that of dwellings completed – by 24.8%, useful floor area of dwellings – by 21%.
In 2016, the construction of individual houses predominated – 59.2% of all the dwellings completed were located in individual houses; blocks of flats accounted for 40.8% of the new dwellings completed. The average useful floor area of a dwelling in an individual house was 147.5 m2, in a block of flats – 59 m2. Moreover, 7 new hostels with the useful floor area of 2.9 thousand m2 were built.
In 2016, 600 new non-residential buildings with the total floor area of 1 mln m2 (by 12.9% less than in 2015) were completed. In terms of the total floor area, industrial buildings and warehouses (349.3 thousand m2), trade and catering enterprises and hotels (335.7 m2) accounted for the largest share.
Concepts
A building is considered to be completed when, in accordance with the established procedure, statements of completion of construction, declarations on the completion of construction in compliance with the design solution have been drawn up. The date of signing a statement or a declaration is considered to be the date of completion of construction.
Building permit refers to a permission to build a new building(s); a permission to reconstruct a building(s); a permission to renovate (modernise) a building(s); construction design documentation approved, in writing, by an authorised civil servant(s); a written consent(s) for construction given by the owner(s) or the holder(s) of a land plot or adjacent land plots; a permission to continue suspended construction.
