The turnover of the Lithuania and France's trade reached LTL 2.25 billion (EUR 649 million) in the first half of 2013. As compared to the same period in 2012, the turnover has increased by 3.2%.
The prime minister of Lithuania hoped that the existing potential of the bilateral cooperation between Lithuania and French in the sphere of the economy was to allow for even better results.
"The perspective sectors for the Lithuania's exports to France are the products of the food industry, the ecological products, the pharmacy products, the furniture, the textile, the transition services and the sector of the construction. We encourage French companies to invest in the Lithuania's projects. We will be glad to see France among the leaders of the investments in Lithuania.
French Minister for Foreign Trade Nicole Bricq described Lithuania as an open country and said that Lithuania could be the door to the Eastern Europe. Bricq hoped that the French businessmen were to more actively participate in Lithuania's projects in the future.
