The company's revenue declined by 5.1% to 414.9 mln euros over the year, LG said in its preliminary 2016 results on Friday.
Lietuvos Gelezinkeliai said it handled 47.6 mln tons of cargo last year, which is a decline by 0.8% from 2015, while its operational profits totaled 350,4 mln euros, down by 20.9 mln euros y-o-y.
Some 32.6 mln tons of freight was transported on international routes, which is 3% less than in 2015. The decline was due to the drop in Russian transit via the Klaipeda port, particularly oil and chemical and mineral fertilizers, as well as the nearly stalled traffic of oil products from Belarus via the Klaipeda port since last July.
LG carried 15 mln tons of freight on local routes last year, which is an increase by 4.3% from 2015.
