AviaAM Leasing China in early December signed a memorandum of understanding with Aeroflot on the sale-leaseback of Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft ordered by the Russian carrier. HNCA will secure the financing for the acquisition of the aircraft, the Lithuanian aircraft leasing company, which is controlled by Gediminas Ziemelis, said.
"The memorandum is a big step in further development of our cooperation with the Chinese partner and there will be more similar transactions in the future," said AviaAM Leasing CEO Tadas Goberis.
The aircraft are to be delivered to the Russian carrier by the end of 2017, starting in March, he said.
The joint venture was established last May. It was said then that it would manage a fleet of aircraft worth of up to 900 million US dollars.
