During its first month of operation, the company successfully completed 98 flights. 7448 seats were offered on direct flights on routes to and from Brussels and Amsterdam.
"A route to berlin has great potential in terms of both business and tourism travel. Berlin is famous throughout the world both for its business conventions and for its cultural events. These are both popular among Lithuanians as well," – said "Air Lituanica" commercial director Simonas Bartkus.
S. Bartkus indicated that Air Lituanica's first month of operation had been more successful than expected, especially in terms of higher-class ticket sales. "We understood that the market demanded a higher-quality product. Passengers flying for work-related travel often choose our 'Flexi' tickets, which offer the opportunity to change the date of one's flight and receive business-class service," – said S. Bartkus.
The carrier has noticed interest in connecting flights. Some of the most popular connections include linking to Paris, London, Marseille and New York through Amsterdam. According to the company, it will probably offer many connecting flights to cities in Great Britain, Spain and France.
During its first month of operation, "Air Lituanica's" aircraft logged more than 220 hours of flight time. 58 percent of passengers flew to Vilnius and 42 percent flew outbound from Vilnius. The carrier has also been very successful in maintaining timely service – 95 percent of outbound flights and 93 percent of inbound flights to and from Vilnius International Airport were on time. The airline's aircraft achieve, on average, 65 percent capacity. Projections indicate that this occupancy level may climb to 70 percent in the fall.
Flights to Berlin will occur every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday aboard "Embraer 170" aircraft. The flights will take off from Vilnius at 13:55 and from Tegel airport at 15:10 local time. The flight's duration will be 1 hour and 35 minutes.
"Air Lituanica" offers daily flights to Brussels, with the exception of Saturdays. Daily flights to Amsterdam are offered as well. This fall, "Air Lituanica" plans to offer flights to Munchen and Prague as well.
