In III quarter 2016, the long-term unemployment rate stood at 2.8%; over a quarter, it decreased by 0.3 ppt, over a year – by 0.9 ppt.
In III quarter 2016, there were 111 th unemployed persons aged 15–74. Over a quarter, the number of unemployed persons decreased by 8.1 th, over a year – by 11.5 th.

In III quarter 2016, the employment rate of persons aged 15–64 stood at 70%; over a quarter, it increased by 0.5 ppt, over a year – by 2 ppt. The male employment rate of the said age group stood at 70.9, female – 69.2%.
Over a quarter, the employment rate of persons aged 20–64 remained almost unchanged – increased by 0.3 ppt and stood at 75.7%.
Over a quarter, the youth (persons aged 15–24) employment rate increased by 2.8 ppt and stood at 32.1%. Over a year, the youth employment rate increased by 3.5 ppt.
In III quarter 2016, the employment rate of persons aged 55–64 remained unchanged; as in II quarter 2016, it stood at 64.8 % and over a year increased by 3.6 ppt.
In III quarter 2016, the number of persons classified under the labour force totalled 1 mln 480 th; over a quarter, the number of such persons decreased by 7.1 th.
In III quarter 2016, there were 1 mln 369 th employed persons. Against the previous quarter, the number of employed persons increased by 1 th, against the respective period of 2015 – by 21.2 th.
In III quarter 2016, the number of unemployed and economically inactive persons aged 15–24 decreased and that of employed persons increased. In III quarter 2016, there were 111 th employed persons of the said age group. Over a quarter, their number increased by 8.5 th, over a year – by 6.1 th.
In III quarter 2016, there were 966.1 th economically inactive persons aged 15 and older. 57.4 % of them were old-age pensioners and persons entitled to anticipatory old-age pension.
In III quarter 2016, there were 218.4 th (63.1%) economically inactive persons aged 15–24; 91.1% of them were studying at general, vocational schools, schools of higher education (colleges, universities).
