The law will change the process of the planning of the territories fundamentally.
"The current law was criticized for the bureaucracy. The issue of the planning of the territories is one of the priorities of the Government. It is important not only for Lithuania but for the foreign companies operating in Lithuania which are waiting for it to be confirmed," said Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius.
"The law related to the planning of the territories was proposed to the former office of the Seimas 3 years ago. The Seimas Committee on Environment Protection of this Seimas office was able to consider only 2 articles. The problems were ingrained and not moving from their grounds. We managed to unravel that bureaucratic rigmaroles in a short time – the period of 2 months, "said Chair of the Seimas Committee on Environment Protection Algimantas Salamakinas.
