According to the daily, the central Bank of Lithuania is about to complete the analysis of the possible consequences of overheating.
Loan specialist Marius Jansonas, president of the Association of Finance and Credit Management, says he is certain that explosion of the real estate bubble in Sweden would have an impact in Lithuania. In his opinion, the Swedish banks in Lithuania would no longer grant loans in Lithuania but rather send money back to Sweden.
Nevertheless, commercial banks and real estate developers maintain that the Swedish problems would not affect Lithuania. Nerijus Maciulis, senior economist at Swedbank, says: "We fully finance the loan portfolio on the internal market. There is simply no dependence on external financial flows – the situation is opposite from what it was in 2008-2009."
