Lithuanian food producers already have contracts with the German-owned discount supermarket chain Lidl, with the first goods to be supplied on May 25, therefore, the opening is expected in early June 2016, Verslo Zinios business daily said on May 18th. Contracts with Lidl have already been signed by Vilkyskiu Pienine dairy, Citma and Kietaviskiu Gausa fruit and vegetable wholesalers, as well as Klaipedos Mesine meat processor. "There are many areas, high quality standards. The suppliers have contracts, however, we will see whether they are capable of ensuring flows and keeping their promises. We will see what consumers like. We want to give everything a reality check," Agne Dalia Gaizauskiene of Lidl Lietuva told the daily.
