In March this year 1,548 new passenger cars were registered in Latvia compared to 1,233 in March 2015.
The report includes data from European Union member states, except for Malta. It also shows information from Switzerland, Norway, and Iceland – the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) member states.
New passenger car registrations in March 2016 increased in all European countries covered by the report, with exception of Greece, Denmark, Spain, Norway, Switzerland and Germany.
The steepest rises in new car registrations in March were recorded for Cyprus (37.1%), Iceland (36.9%), Portugal (31.8%) and Lithuania (28.8%).
New passenger car registrations in Europe totaled 1,744,986, growing 5.7% year-on-year. Of these, 1,700,674 new passenger cars were registered in the EU at a six% increase from March 2015.
In January-March 2016, there were 3,883 new cars registered in Latvia, up 21% year-on-year and the tenth sixth growth in Europe.
