According to the daily, acquisition of companies in Sweden paves way for Lithuanian businesses to use trademarks that already have a name on Western markets, which facilitates easier and faster integration in the global chain of creating value.
"The Swedish trend is first of all due to the regional aspect, as well as a response to the activeness of Swedish businesses in Lithuanian. The trend will escalate – let's say, Lithuanian construction firms see Sweden as a platform for expansion in all Nordic countries," says Sigitas Brazinskas, representative of Enterprise Lithuania in Sweden and consultant of international business development.
According to data provided by Statistics Lithuania, Lithuanian businesses invested 28.6 million euros in Sweden last year, while the accumulated direct investment in Sweden grew by a factor of almost 16 to 29.97 million euros at the end of 2015.
