Lithuania’s public debt at 42.5% GDP in late 2015

Lithuania's public debt totaled 15.815 billion euros at the end of 2015, accounting for 42.5% of last year's GDP, data from the Finance Ministry showed on March 31st. Foreign debt amounted to 12.372 billion euros, or 73.7% of the total debt, and domestic debt – to 4.419 billion euros, or 26.3%. Long-term debt totaled 16.347 billion euros, or 97.4% of the total debt, while short-term debt was 443.5 million euros, or 2.6% of the total, the ministry said. As a result of hedging transactions, the actual central government debt at the end of 2015 was 16.790 billion euros, or 45.1% of GDP.
