Mining and quarrying, manufacturing production increased by 4.2%1 at constant prices, manufacturing – 4.1%1.
Over the month, an increase1 in production was observed for the manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations – 46.8% (seasonally and calendar unadjusted – increased 2.7 times), manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers – 14.1% (seasonally and calendar unadjusted – increased by 12.3%), repair and installation of machinery and equipment – 13% (seasonally and calendar unadjusted – increased by 26.4%), manufacture of chemicals and chemical products – 10.9% (seasonally and calendar unadjusted – increased by 14.5%).
In February 2016, against February 2015, industrial production, calendar adjusted, increased by 6.3% at constant prices (calendar unadjusted – by 5.5%). Calendar adjusted, mining and quarrying and manufacturing production over the year increased by 8.3%, manufacturing production – 8.2%.
In January–February 2016, industrial production totalled EUR 2.9 billion at current prices, and against the same period of 2015, calendar adjusted, increased by 7.8% at constant prices, calendar unadjusted – 6.8%. Over the said period, mining and quarrying and manufacturing production increased by 8.6%, calendar unadjusted – 7%; the same changes were recorded for the manufacturing.
In January–February 2016, against the respective period of 2015, the proportion of mining and quarrying and manufacturing sales and services on the non-Lithuanian market increased by 1.8 percentage points and stood at 67.6%, on the Lithuanian market – decreased by 1.8 percentage points and stood at 32.4%. The value of sales and services to non-euro area countries accounted for more than half (54.5%) of the total value of sales and services on the non-Lithuanian market.
In January–February 2016, against the same period of 2015, the value of sales and services of industrial enterprises on the non-Lithuanian market increased by 1.9% at current prices. The increase was mainly influenced by a 20.1% increase in the sales of the production of enterprises engaged in the manufacture of textiles, 32.1% – motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, 5% – furniture, 7.8% – wood and wood products, except furniture, 28% –– repair and installation of machinery and equipment. Over the said period, a decrease in sales was observed for the production of enterprises engaged in manufacture of refined petroleum products (19.3%) and wearing apparel (3.1%). Refined petroleum products excluded, the value of sales and services on the non-Lithuanian market increased by 8% at current prices.
The value of sales and services to euro area countries decreased by 7.2%, while to non-euro area countries – increased by 10.8%.
In January–February 2016, against January–February 2015, the value of sales and services of mining and quarrying and manufacturing on the Lithuanian market decreased by 6.2% at current prices, refined petroleum products excluded – by 3.3%.
