Lidl Lietuva, the Lithuanian subsidiary of the retailer, will open more than 10 stores.
"We are now getting ready for the official opening of Lidl Lietuva's logistics center in the district of Kaunas. It has been scheduled for the middle of April. Another milestone will be the opening of first Lidl stores... We plan to make a start in the first half of the year with the opening of more than 10 stores across the country and to continue with active expansion," Agne Dalia Gaizauskiene, told spokeswoman for Lidl Lietuva.
The list of specific stores and the dates of their opening would not be made public thus far, she added.
Construction on the logistics center, worth 29 million euros, was finalized last year.
As estimated, the chain is building and plans to open approximately 30 stores across the country. Moreover, it buys properties all across Lithuania actively.
