The Swedish-owned Be-Ge Group has invested 2.4 million euros in the construction of the new 4,000-square-meter production and administrative building on a 1.1-hectare plot on the outskirts of the port city.
Be-Ge Baltic Managing Director Vaida Vaicaitiene says that it will be clear in the near future how much money will be invested in new equipment, adding that the company plans to purchase a new automated sewing line and a cutting machine.
The company, which has been growing at an annual rate of around 15%, expects to achieve stronger growth when it moves to the new production facility.
