Average net monthly earnings increased by 5.6% year-on-year to 584.8 euros.
Quarter-on-quarter, gross earnings rose by 3% and net earnings were up by 2.8%, the statistics office said, attributing the quarterly increase to seasonality, higher one-off bonuses and other payments, and other reasons.
Real wages increased by 2.1% over the quarter and by 6% over the year.
Men's gross wages in Lithuania exceeded women's wages by 125.2 euros in the fourth quarter of 2015, data from Statistics Lithuania showed on Wednesday.
In October through December, women's average gross wages in Lithuania's economy, excluding sole proprietorships, accounted for 84.7 percent of men's average gross wages. As regards average net wages, women earned 85.7 percent of the amount earned by men.
As estimated by the statistics office, women's average monthly gross wages in Lithuania (excluding sole proprietorships) amounted to 695.4 euros and men's – to 820.6 euros in the final quarter of 2015. Average monthly net wages were 540.4 euros and 630.7 euros, respectively.
Women's average gross wages stood at 729.6 euros in the public sector in October through December and were 152.5 euros lower than those of men. In the private sector, men's average gross wages exceeded those of women (EUR 668.6) by 132.1 euros.
Women's average net wages amounted to 565.1 euros in the public sector and to 521.1 euros in the public sector in the fourth quarter and were lower than the net amounts earned by men by 110 euros and 95.2 euros, respectively.
