The Turks, who until recently did not take much interest in the annual trade fair Baltic Textile and Leather, are now looking for contacts.
According to Linas Lasiauskas, director general of the Lithuanian Apparel and Textile Industry Association, Lithuanian companies would be willing to purchase Turkish fabrics, but the terms have not been flexible until now.
The Turks wanted to sell fabrics in large quantities, which was not acceptable for small companies, designers and boutiques.
The situation has changed, which may encourage companies to go into the wholesale textile business. There are few such suppliers in the Lithuanian market now.
