Regimantas Didzinskas, CEO of the fruit importer Citma, says that the company's five fruit suppliers from Turkey have already reduced their prices.
"I don't think there'll be a sudden increase in the supply of Turkish products in the market, but existing importers already benefit from a fall in vegetable and fruit prices," Didzinskas told the paper.
"Our Turkish partners have already cut prices by 10-15% because they are unable to sell their products," he said.
Didzinskas thinks that prices may decline further by at least 5% but that will depend on what tactics Turkish companies employ.
"They are looking for ways to process fruit and vegetables, such as canning and so on," he said.
