Hence the plant in Klaipeda will go into the new year with a 40% increase in production capacity and management changes, the Verslo Zinios business daily has reported on Monday.
Following the expansion, the area of the production facility has increased by 1,200 square meters, including new space of storage premises, cigarette and filter production shops. The project also involved installation of new equipment, some of which was delivered to Klaipeda from the Philip Morris' plant in the Netherlands, which was shut down last year.
Meanwhile, Rimvydas Pundinas, who spent more than two years as CEO of Philip Morris Lietuva, has been relocated to Portugal to work as a director for the improvement of production activity and maintenance at the company's center of production excellence.
He was succeeded on Dec. 2 by Johan Bink, who has been working for Philip Morris International since 1990.
