Lithuania's commercial banks have contributed the first 10 million euros to a special fund that can be used to restructure problem banks, the central bank said on February 1st. Klaipeda in 2015 remained the number one seaport in the Baltic countries in terms of container handling, even though TEU traffic fell by 12.8% to 392,700 units, from 450,400 units in 2014, the port's authority said on Monday. Compared to 2014, the real GDP growth stood at 1.7% (1) (seasonally and working day unadjusted – at 1.6%). Statistics Lithuania informs that in December 2015, compared to November, construction input prices increased by 0.7%. The overall price change was mainly influenced by a 2.6% increase in wages and salaries. Over the year (December 2015, against December 2014), construction input prices increased by 1.3%. Turnover of retail trade and catering enterprises in Lithuania rose by 19.2% in December2016-01-28, 16:52Statistics Lithuania informs that, based on provisional data, in December 2015, the turnover (VAT excluded) of retail trade enterprises* amounted to EUR 869.0 million; against November, it increased by 19.2% at constant prices (seasonally and working day adjusted – by 0.3%).
