EconomySmart Energy Fund powered by Lietuvos Energija, managed by Contrarian Ventures is investing in French and US start-up Sterblue which develops software for non-pilot aircraft (drones) allowing inspecting power lines and wind turbines without human intervention. HCL Technologies, a multinational technology company which has been working with British bank Barclays for past four years, plans to expand its operations in the Nordic and other European countries, Rahul Singh, president of financial services sales at HCL Technologies, says after Barclays announced its plans on Tuesday to close its operation center in Vilnius and move 460 jobs to HCL Technologies. The Lithuanian government approved on Wednesday an improved draft budget for 2019, allocating additional funds for municipal budgets and educators' salaries.
