Wednesday, April 24, Vilnius - President Dalia Grybauskaitė accepted letters of credence from the Ambassador of Switzerland, Markus Dutly.


On April 24 through 27 a group of arms control instructors of Russia and Belarus will conduct an observation flight over Lithuania’s territory in an An-30 B observation aircraft provided by the Russian Federation on the basis the Treaty on Open Skies.

Tuesday, April 23, Vilnius - President Dalia Grybauskaitė met with the Lord Mayor of London, Roger Gifford, who is visiting Lithuania. The conversation focused on Lithuania's preparations for the presidency of the Council of the European Union and the investment climate in the country.

During the first day's discussion, Krivas, the European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy Štefan Füle, the Georgian State Minister on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Issues Aleksi Petriashvili, and the Moldovan Foreign Minister Iurie Leancă explored the future of the Eastern Partnership countries.

On April 19 a formal deployment ceremony was held at the garden of Vytautas the Great War Museum in Kaunas for the final shift of Chaghcharan Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT-17) which will conclude the Lithuanian-led mission in Ghor province of Afghanistan.

Thursday, April 18, Vilnius - President Dalia Grybauskaitė accepted letters of credence from Ambassador Carlos Brugnini Lagos of Uruguay.

On 16 April in Accra, the Lithuanian Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Neris Germanas, who is paying a bilateral visit to Ghana, met with Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Hanna Serwaa Tetteh and presented Lithuania’s preparation to hold the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Important issues related to Sub-Saharan Africa were discussed.

Tuesday, April 16, Vilnius - President Dalia Grybauskaitė and Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dačić discussed bilateral cooperation between the two countries and Serbia's EU membership bid.

The Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania held a press conference under the title ’Importance of the adoption of the Law on the protection of unborn children’. The leader of EAPL Valdemar Tomaševski and the Member of the Seimas on behalf of EAPL Zbignev Jedinski convened the conference.

Friday, April 12, Vilnius - President Dalia Grybauskaitė met with Danish Foreign Minister Villy Søvndal to exchange views on bilateral and regional cooperation between Lithuania and Denmark. Among the other issues discussed were the priorities of Lithuania's EU presidency agenda and the EU-Eastern Partnership Summit to be held in Vilnius.
