On 23 January, Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Ukrainian Ambassador to Lithuania Valeriy Zhovtenko. He was requested to convey to the Ukrainian authorities Lithuania's position on the recent events in Kyiv, during which people were killed and wounded.
The Lithuanian Foreign Ministry once again calls on the Ukrainian government and opposition to start a dialogue to overcome the ongoing crisis and set the country on the path of reconciliation, and to ensure the rights to freedom of speech, press and assembly to its citizens.
