‘This initiative holds significant importance, particularly in the current context where the flow of ammunition has slowed down. Lithuania will continue to support all formats of assistance that would increase Ukraine’s capacity to effectively fend off Russian aggression, thereby safeguarding the freedom of all of Europe,’ stated Prime Minister Šimonytė.
Under this initiative, countries participate in joint procurement and transfer of ammunition to Ukraine, identifying potential ammunition stocks or sources of rapid production for acquisition.
During the telephone conversation, the Prime Ministers of Lithuania and the Czech Republic also discussed the security situation in the region, the importance of increasing defence investments in Europe, and the commitment to strengthen bilateral relations between Lithuania and the Czech Republic.
