Transparency International organizes Summer School on Integrity in Vilnius

Next Monday, 8th of July, Transparency International organizes its famous summer school on integrity in Vilnius. The school is attended by 140 young leaders from more than 60 countries. The classes will be held at Mykolas Romeris University.

The Summer School on Integrity is an annual event organized by the Transparency International network. Lithuania has a pleasure of organizing this event in Vilnius. During this week long school, participants will get to understand the causes of corruption and its manifestations. Together with lecturers and speakers, students will search for ways to achieve transparency and accountability. Lecturers and speakers from the US, United Kingdom, Russia, France, Poland, Peru, Germany, Slovenia, Denmark, Brazil, Norway, and Lithuania will share their experiences with the students.

The school will be addressed by the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė. Also, students will be welcomed at the reception at the British Embassy.

According to the executive director of Transparency International Lithuanian Chapter, Sergejus Muravjovas, the aim of this school is to inspire young people to seek for higher levels of transparency in their everyday lives. Huguette Labelle, the chair of the Transparency International board, adds that this summer school is the success story of the whole Transparency International network and is a perfect example of how the youth can be engaged into the fight against corruption.
