Juozaitis: reins on Baltoscandia

Considered once as the left-wing radical, philosopher Arvydas Juozaitis has metamorphosed. From the leftist and internationalist suddenly he became a national extremist. Probably even Songaila and Landsbergis look with envy at Juozaitis’s intransigence and belligerence towards Poland.

Recently, a lengthy article by Juozaitis "Baltoslavia or Baltoscandia" was published. In the article the philosopher mercilessly exposes all the tricks of the imperialist and hypocritical Warsaw policy towards its eastern neighbours. From the whole, grim picture of Poland who is only waiting to get back to its’ former borderlands emerges.

And how cannot Latvia see such an obvious game of Poland - Juozaitis resents the northern neighbour and even calls it a traitor. Because only a traitor could reward the Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski with a high state honour of "Three Stars". It is a scandal indeed. After all, Sikorski denigrates Lithuania and demonstratively does not visit it - the philosopher bursts with anger and makes the first delation. Poland, according to its’ pre-war tradition, wants to drive wedge between Lithuania and Latvia. And it will do it easily, as Latvians still have so few friends in the world, that they have to ogle to Warsaw - Juozaitis deplores and slanders the neighbour. He adds that "in the past 20 years [Latvia] cannot decide - include Lithuanians to friends, or not".

“Poles already played their cards on the Kaliningrad table," Juozaitis continues with a list of other Polish tricks and provides further examples. Poles keep the border to Kaliningrad wide open, lead business, enhance revenues, create Baltoslavia, eliminate Lithuania from this region. Is it not an aggression? Is it not a mockery of little Lithuania?

But this is not the end of the Polish imperial policy. The philosopher prophesies that Belarus is a further object of the greedy Warsaw. They are already preparing "an explosive contraband" for Lukashenko, which "the Polish word" is for poor Belarusians; Juozaitis whimpers and asks, if it is not an open aggression? And then continues to complain about the fate of unfortunate Belarusians, who will experience more difficulties soon. Because when Lukashenka quits, Poles will report their merit in removing the last dictator of Europe and will request to introduce the Polish language in half of the schools in Belarus on the next day. Phew ... I do not quote further.

In short, the only salvation for Lithuania is Baltoscandia, where Lithuania should "direct its reins" as soon as possible if we want to escape from Poland, urges the Lithuanian Moses. His delusive arguments can be considered as an extravagance of a philosopher-loner, who propels himself from one extreme to another, who "amuses, addles, frightens". But many people in Lithuania think the same. Conservatives mostly squeal with delight when they read such articles...
