The political consultation was led by the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Neris Germanas and the Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Murat Salim Esenli.
The two sides underlined the importance of solidarity between the partner countries and their close cooperation in the face of global challenges. As regards the EU-Turkey cooperation in dealing with the refugee crisis, Germanas said that it was especially important to practically implement existing agreements.
The Turkish delegation expressed its support for Lithuania's goal of joining the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.
A lot of attention was paid to Ukraine and the situation of the Crimean Tatars on Ukraine's Crimean peninsula, which was illegally annexed by Russia, as well as the security situation in the Middle East.
The Lithuanian delegation paid tribute to the victims of the Ankara terror attacks of 13 March, placed flowers at the site of the blast in the Guven Park.
