Women refugees
Parliament marks International Women's Day on 8 March every year and this year it has chosen women refugees and asylum seekers at its theme.
Ahead of the occasion, MEPs and their national counterparts debate on Thursday violence against women refugees, their living conditions in camps and the best ways to integrate them. Meanwhile journalists can attend a seminar on women refugees featuring leading MEPs and experts on Wednesday.
Migration
The civil liberties committee discusses with Commission representatives on Monday how to set up a European Border and Coast Guard to protect the EU's borders while still safeguarding the movement of people within the EU. In addition they talk about draft legislation to step up checks at the EU's external borders, as well as travel documents for readmitting migrants staying in the EU illegally.
Ukraine
MEPs and Ukrainian MPs meet in Brussels for a three-day Ukraine Week conference on good parliamentary practice, law-making and representation. Former EP President Pat Cox presents a roadmap on parliamentary capacity-building for Ukraine on Monday.
Car emissions
Parliament's Emission Measurements in the Automotive Sector (EMIS) inquiry committee meets for the first time on Wednesday to elect its chair and vice-chairs. The committee is tasked with investigating car makers' breaches of rules on emission tests as well as alleged failures by the European Commission and member states to enforce EU standards.
