The Lithuanian delegation had strategic roundtable discussions with the US security and defence experts at the Centre for European Policy Analysis (CEPA) and with representatives of the US major NGOs, discussions with members of the American-Lithuanian Business Council and the key opinion formers White House Writers Group, and the discussion on regional security at the editorial office of The Washington Post.
There were also meetings with the representatives of the International Monetary Fund, the Broadcasting Board of Governors, the Voice of America and the Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, the White House and the Department of State, and US negotiators on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).
Summing up the opinions of the members of the delegation, Gediminas Kirkilas considered the exchange of views with US interlocutors as especially timely and relevant highlighting that the cooperation with US politicians and NGOs should be more coherent and consistent, particularly in the current geopolitical context.
