Named Prof. Piskarskas Endowment Sub-Fund of 200,000 Euro Established to Finance Laser Science Talents2023-05-03, 18:36Light Conversion, a major ultrafast laser technology company, together with the family of late academician Prof. Algis Petras Piskarskas (1942-2022), has made a donation of 200,000 euro to the Vilnius University Foundation. At the request of the patrons, the donation has created a restricted endowment sub-fund in the name of Prof. Piskarskas, the returns of which will be allocated for the named scholarships to laser physics talents. On 3–5 May, a visit of an international team of experts of the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education (SKVC) will take place at Vytautas Magnus University (VMU). The expert group composed by SKVC will assess the performance of VMU. No single one practice is sufficient for greater innovation performance, say the researchers, overviewing the results of the most recent PDMA’s 2021 global survey. The Best companies, according to the results, are better at employing multiple types of innovation, but the spend more time on radical innovation, are oriented towards risk-taking, and employ long-term strategies.
