Vilnius University (VU) together with Embassy of Israel in Lithuania started a joined student mentorship program “Kelrodė žvaigždė“ (The Guiding Star). One hundred VU students volunteered to become friends and mentors to 9-12 year old children from needy and socially excluded families. Kaunas intends to invest 5 million euros in the territory of a former aviation factory and build the Aleksoto Innovations Park, if approval is secured from the council of Lithuania's second city next week, with plans to bring the tech giant Samsung there, Kauno Diena daily said on February 23rd. The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania opens a Call for applications for 70 Lithuanian state grants for full-time Master degree or Integrated studies at Lithuanian higher education institutions for the academic year 2018/2019. The funding under the Call shall be provided to the nationals of the Republic of Ukraine, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Georgia, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Moldova, Japan, the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Korea, the State of Israel and foreigners of Lithuanian origin. The European Consortium of Innovative University (ECIU) has just launched a Research Mobility Fund, aiming at increasing collaboration amongst its researchers. KTU researchers are invited to apply for a travel grant for a stay at one of the 11 partner universities in Europe and in Mexico. The mobility fund works as an incentive to explore and deepen research collaboration within the ECIU network. Researchers coming together through the scheme are invited to explore possible international high quality research outputs, for example joint research funding grant applications, scientific publications and research projects. The mobility fund ultimately supports professional development of ECIU researchers, by supporting know-how exchange in an international high-quality research environment. This July, the Baltic Summer University (BSU) is back at Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) and everyone is welcome to join any of its 15 programmes by registering for them online on BSU’s website. BSU covers a wide scope of areas and allows students to choose a programme that would meet their interests and needs: improve professional skills, learn new languages, discover new cultures or meet new people. There is still a week left for registration for Erasmus+ study exchange. Choose a university, apply for studies and participate in selection. A brand new course is starting at Vilnius University this academic year – Romanian language. Following an agreement between the Institute of Foreign Languages (Vilnius University) and the Institute of Romanian Language (Bucharest, Romania), prof. dr. Ovidiu Ivancu was the appointed Lecturer of Romanian language at Vilnius university. Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) welcomes international students to apply for 11 Bachelor and 21 Master degree study programmes in the English language. Application deadline for studies in the 2018/2019 academic year is 10 June. Application submissions have to be sent online. |
