Addressing the participants of the business forum, the President stressed that he views the US-Lithuania relations as having great potential for further successful development, as previous examples of cooperation have been very fruitful. The Head of State presented to the US business representatives and the participants of the business forum the potential of Lithuanian exporters, the country’s investment environment, successful cooperation between business and higher education, and a large pool of skilled talents.
“Lithuania’s economy is taking rapid steps forward, especially in the development of high added-value products and services. America is a strategic partner for Lithuania in the areas of foreign policy, security, and economy. Over the years, we have succeeded in making the USA Lithuania’s main trading and investment partner outside Europe. However, the potential for cooperation between Lithuanian and US businesses is still far from being fully tapped. This landmark business forum in California is a good opportunity to strengthen these bilateral economic ties,” Gitanas Nausėda spoke.
At the business forum, the Lithuanian leader also highlighted the resilience of the Lithuanian economy to shocks, as demonstrated during the pandemic. According to Gitanas Nausėda, Lithuania is a safe, stable, and viable place to invest and set up businesses, as well as a reliable trading partner. The President invited representatives of Los Angeles companies to visit Lithuania in April next year when it will host the Three Seas Initiative Summit and International Business Forum.
The US-Lithuania Business Forum in Los Angeles, which brought together more than 150 participants, discussed green transformation and the prospects for net-zero industries, as well as digital and technological progress, international trade and transport. The business forum took place at the University of California, Los Angeles.
