Mining and quarrying and manufacturing production decreased by 4.1% at constant prices, manufacturing – 4.3%.
Over the month, a decrease1 in production was observed for the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers – by 16.9% (seasonally and calendar unadjusted – increased by 7.4%), basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations – 16% (seasonally and calendar unadjusted – decreased by 38.1%), refined petroleum products – 9.8% (seasonally and calendar unadjusted – decreased by 2.5%), other non-metallic mineral products – 9% (seasonally and calendar unadjusted – increased by 21.6%).
In March 2016, against March 2015, calendar adjusted, industrial production increased by 2.6% at constant prices (calendar unadjusted – by 4.3%). Over the year, mining and quarrying and manufacturing production, calendar adjusted, increased by 3.1%; the same increase was recorded for manufacturing production.
In January–March 2016, industrial production totalled EUR 4.4 billion at current prices and, compared to the same period of 2015, calendar adjusted, grew by 5.7% at constant prices (calendar unadjusted – by 6%). Over the said period, mining and quarrying and manufacturing production increased by 6.4% (calendar unadjusted – by 6.2%); the same changes were recorded for manufacturing.
In January–March 2016, against January–March 2015, the proportion of mining and quarrying and manufacturing sales and services on the non-Lithuanian market increased by 1.4 percentage points and stood at 66.9%, on the Lithuanian market – decreased by 1.4 percentage points and stood at 33.1%. The value of sales and services to non-euro area countries accounted for more than half (54.4%) of the total value of sales and services on the non-Lithuanian market.
In January–March 2016, against January–March 2015, the value of sales and services of industrial enterprises on the non-Lithuanian market decreased by 0.3% at current prices. The decrease was determined by a decrease in the sales of the production of the manufacture of refined petroleum products (17.7%) and chemicals and chemical products (7.2%). In January–March 2016, against the same period of 2015, refined petroleum products excluded, the value of sales and services on the non-Lithuanian market increased by 4.4% at current prices. Over the said period, the sales of the production of the manufacture of wood and wood products, except furniture, grew by 7.8%, furniture – 5.2%, textiles – 18.5%, motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers – 27.2%.
The value of sales and services to euro area countries decreased by 6.3%, while to non-euro area countries – increased by 5.4%.
In January–March 2016, against January–March 2015, the value of sales and services of mining and quarrying and manufacturing on the Lithuanian market decreased by 6.2% at current prices, refined petroleum products excluded – by 3.3%.
