The new law should come into force next year. It would affect more or less 7 000 German athletes. Moreover foreign athletes caught in Germany would risk prison as well.

Germany is becoming really strict regarding its new law on doping. To be more specific, Germany is going to make doping a crime with jail terms of up to three years.
