At the Medininkai checkpoint on the Belarusian border, which was also temporarily closed on Sunday evening, crossings are now restricted. These restrictions do not apply to the following categories:
- persons holding diplomatic passports or transporting the diplomatic mail of the Republic of Lithuania;
- persons traveling with a Facilitated Transit Document issued under Council Regulation (EC) No 693/2003, i.e. travelers transiting between Belarus and the Kaliningrad region;
- citizens of the Republic of Lithuania and citizens of EU Member States and their family members traveling to the Republic of Lithuania;
- persons holding a valid residence permit in the Republic of Lithuania and traveling to Lithuania.
Final decisions will be taken by the Government on Wednesday, October 29. We will provide separate information on the decisions once they are adopted.
