'Lithuanians residing in the UK and Ireland are expected to start flying back home to greet X-mas with their families in Lithuania on the upcoming Friday. Naturally, most of them will be looking to fly back soon after the New Year celebrations. As a result, we are anticipating a dramatic increase in passenger flows to and from these destinations around that time,' said the CCO of Air Lituanica Simonas Bartkus. 'These routes were introduced to satisfy the demand for around 6000 seats. Currently there are only a few seats left on our pre-X-mas flights to Vilnius and Palanga. These cost EUR 179 each. However, those that are still unsure about where to celebrate their X-mas holidays can make the most of our flight tickets from Vilnius to London and Dublin starting at the price of just EUR 59,' added S.Bartkus.
'Traditionally, winter holidays mark the time when airports are crowded with people, so all travellers are urged to arrive at their flight registration desks as early as possible. Taking into account the number of Air Lituanica passengers during this festive time of the year we will open the registration desks to the aforementioned flights significantly earlier, i.e. 3-4 hours prior to the flights,' commented the Deputy Head of Palanga International Airport Vaida Gendrolyte.
In the meantime, Vilnius International airport provides the service of continual flight registration, so passengers can remain at peace: they can register for their flights from early in the morning and stay assured that they will not be late for their journey. It is worthy to mention, though, that Air Lituanica does not offer electronic registration for the holiday flights, but the registration at the airport is free and passengers can bring up to 23 kg of registered baggage and 8 kg of hand luggage free of charge, too.
Due to exceptionally crowded London Gatwick and Dublin airports during the holiday season Air Lituanica strongly advises its passengers to arrive at the airports no later than 2 hours prior to their flights.
Passengers travelling on Air Lituanica holiday routes will be flown on Small Planet Airlines-operated 148-seater Boeing B737 and 180-seater Airbus A320 as well as Air-Lituanica-operated 86-seater Embraer 175.
