"The courage demonstrated by the people of Iceland to the entire world more than twenty years ago has linked Lithuania and Iceland with a very special bond. Our streamlined investment into the development of bilateral political, economic and cultural relations has brought about significant results, while our excellent political relationship has been supplemented by the strong component of practical cooperation," the President wrote in her message of congratulations.
The President underlined the necessity to continue promoting the dialogue of importance for both countries and their people, strengthening the existing areas of cooperation and searching for new promising avenues.
