In his message, President Gitanas Nausėda emphasized that Lithuania and Poland share a special friendship rooted in deep historical, cultural, and religious ties. “We welcome the growing intensity of our bilateral cooperation in recent years. I believe that we will remain sincere and like-minded partners, continue our joint efforts on strategically important issues, and seek new ways to deepen our meaningful dialogue,” the Lithuanian leader wrote in his message of congratulations.
The President underscored that Lithuania and Poland are strong allies within both NATO and the European Union, working closely to ensure the security not only of their own nations but of Europe as a whole.
“Today, our countries stand shoulder to shoulder as allies whose security is grounded not only in words, but in concrete actions and long-term investments in defense. I am confident that we will continue working together with other allies to strengthen regional security, ensure enhanced NATO defense capabilities on the eastern flank, and sustain allied support for Ukraine as it fights for its freedom—and ours,” the President underlined.
President Gitanas Nausėda also extended an invitation to Karol Nawrocki to visit Lithuania. Such a visit would provide an opportunity not only to discuss current areas of cooperation between Lithuania and Poland but also to inspire new initiatives that would contribute to the prosperity of both nations.
Gitanas Nausėda wished the newly elected President of Poland strength and success in carrying out the important responsibilities of office.
