Vice Minister of National Defence Vytautas Umbrasas thanked the outgoing Defence Attaché for excellent job done on strengthening bilateral cooperation and presented the National Defence System Medal of Merit.
The officials expressed mutual appreciation of intense bilateral cooperation in defence area, deployments to international exercise in Lithuania and Georgia, for example, the recently wrapped Maple Arch 2018 and Noble Partner 2018, also, discovery of new areas for experience exchange, such as psychological rehabilitation, NCO training, and administration of national service.
“Georgia is a close and staunch partner we will always support at political level and through practical assistance,” V. Umbrasas stressed.
The ceremony was also attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Khatuna Salukvadze and representatives of the Ministry of National Defence and the Lithuanian Armed Forces.
Col Archil Petremgvdlishvili served as the Defence Attaché of Georgia to Lithuania from 2015. Based in Vilnius, he was also the Defence Attaché to Latvia and Estonia.
Col A. Petremgvdlishvili graduated from the Military Academy in Tbiisi and the National Aviation University in Kyiv, Ukraine. Worked at the Ministry of Defence of Georgia, before the most recent appointment he was the head of the Armed Control and Verification Unit of the General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces.
