Vydas Gedvilas as speaker of the Lithuanian Seimas and Vytautas Gapšys as vice-speaker have resigned on this Thursday. They represent the ruling Labour Party. Loreta Graužinienė member of the Labour Party was nominated to replace Vydas Gedvilas.

Loreta Graužinienė plans to nominate Gedvilas as her first vice-speaker if she elected as speaker. 113 MP's voted in favour of Gapšys resignation and seven abstained. 76 MP's voted in favour of Gedvilas resignation, 7 voted against his resignation and 35 abstained. After the vote, Gapšys and Gedvilas thanked the parliament fot common work.
