Lithuania takes up a leading position for the spending of the European Union (EU) Structural Funds which are paid by the European Commission, informs LETA/ELTA.

The sum of the EU Structural Funds for Lithuania reached EUR 4.293 billion and it made up 63.4% of the total EU Structural Funds for 2007-2013.

According to the data presented by the European Commission, EUR 3.674 billion was paid for Lithuania until August 1 and this made up 63.4% of the total EU Structural Funds for 2007-2013.

Lithuania is ahead of all the EU member states.

According to the data presented by the European Commission, Lithuania stood in the first place. The second position was taken by Portugal which was followed by Estonia and Sweden.
