Two bombs exploded near the finish line of the Boston Marathon on Monday, killing at least three people and injuring 144.

The incident came at about 2:45 p.m., near three hours after the first of the race's runners crossed the finish line.

At least 17 people are critically wounded, and 25 are in serious condition.

President Obama made a statement about Monday's explosions at the Boston Marathon.

"We still do not know who did this or why," he said.

"But make no mistake -- we will get to the bottom of this. We will find out who did this. We'll find out why they did this. Any responsible individuals, any responsible groups will feel the full weight of justice. "
