Land areas totaling about 7 hectares are to be allocated for solar power plants at the airfields of Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga airports. The energy produced by the own solar power plants could meet about one third of the total energy demand of Lithuanian airports. Energy storage parks are also planned to be built nearby. On 23-24 November, Vilnius will host the fifth international Baltic Transport Forum, the largest transport and logistics sector event in the Baltic countries.
